Holy Bread
Combine:
1 Package Yeast
1/4 cup of warm water (100 -110 degrees Fahrenheit)
Pinch of sugar (to activate yeast) and a pinch of salt in a small
bowl and set aside for 15 minutes.
5 cups of flour sifted into a large mixing bowl
Make a depression in the center of the flour and add yeast. Add another 1+ cup 2 TBLS of water.
Must feel right, Pliable not too sticky - not too dry. Divide dough in half and continue to knead on a lightly dusted cutting board. Flour two pans.
Press the seal into each loaf. Cut around seal with a sharp knife and lift seal. Let rise for 2 hours.
Before baking, make about 8 toothpick holes around the edge of the seal. Bake for 25 min. or more at 350 degrees, until bottom is slightly brown and top is white.
Set out to cool and cover with tin foil. It's stays moister. You'll have two breads, one for communion and one to freeze and leave at church. I wrap in wax paper then tin foil then put in a freezer bag to prevent freezer burn.
